01 / HOW IT WORKS

Open, inspect, then use your result.

  1. 01

    Open your file

Upload a PNG or JPEG photo or height map. You can choose a file, drop it here or paste a copied file.

  2. 02

    Look from every angle

Set the width, minimum thickness and height range, then apply your settings. Rotate the preview to inspect the base and relief.

  3. 03

    Download the converted file

After conversion, download OBJ + MTL (ZIP). Open the result in your destination software and check the units before use.

02 / TRY IT YOURSELF

A ramp you can measure

The sample runs from black on the left to white on the right. With the default 100 mm width, 1 mm base and 3 mm height range, its surface rises from 1 to 4 mm. Invert swaps the two ends.

Aspect ratio is preserved. Transparency is composited onto white.

03 / FORMAT & USE

JPG to OBJ

JPG to OBJ maps pixel brightness to surface height above a solid base. Use it for relief artwork, textured plaques and grayscale height maps. Width sets the physical size; the original aspect ratio determines height. The result includes a back and side walls.

What this viewer supports

This creates a height map, not a full 3D reconstruction of the subject. PNG and JPEG files are supported; transparency is composited onto white. The longest grid edge uses 64, 128 or 256 samples. Output is geometry only; OBJ does not contain the original photo as a texture. Images are limited to 40 million pixels and 16,384 pixels per edge.

Supports files up to 32 MiB, 1 million triangles and 2,000 mesh objects. For larger assemblies, export only the parts you need.

04 / QUESTIONS

Know your input. Understand your output.

Does JPG to OBJ reconstruct the object in my photo?

No. Each pixel becomes a height sample on a rectangular plate. This works well for reliefs and height maps, but it cannot recover hidden sides or real depths from a photograph. Use Invert if dark areas should stand higher.

Do I need an account or credits?

No. These tools are free and run in your browser. No account, subscription or credits are required.

Is my model uploaded?

No. Your selected file is read and processed in this browser. The page downloads its CAD engine and public samples, but does not upload your model. Refreshing or leaving the page clears the current file from the tool.

How are units and orientation handled?

Set the output width in millimeters. Image pixels do not carry a reliable physical size; the height follows the image aspect ratio.

Can I paste a file from my computer?

Copy a file in your file manager, then paste here. Your browser must expose the clipboard as a file; a copied path or text will not open a model.
